Description: All structures are required to be
placed a minimum distance from each of the subject
property's boundary lines. These distances are referred to
as setbacks. When considering any construction, it
is important to know the specific setback requirements that
apply to the subject property. Each of the zoning
districts has a unique set of setback standards.
Examples: Building an addition to a house generally
requires a minimum five-foot setback from both the side and
rear property lines, however Planning staff can identify any
exceptions.
