Description: All commercial projects,
including multi-family projects, are governed by a set of
landscape and irrigation design standards. Examples:
Landscape areas under 10,000 square feet are subject to
codes listed in the City of Modesto Municipal Codes.
Landscape areas over 10,000 feet are subject to the State of
California's Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance.
PROCESS OVERVIEW:
Submit an Application
To get a
landscape permit, you will need to submit an
application.

What to include:
- 3 sets of landscape plans
- Soils test report for
horticultural suitability
- 1 copy of the civil plans showing
the grading
- 1 set of building elevations

Pay Fees
Once your plans are approved, you will need to
pay for any plan review costs, permits or other
fees that may apply to your project.

Get Permits
When your application is approved and at the time you pay your fees, the
Park Planning & Development Division will
issue the required permits for your project.
