Celebration of Lights Parade and Downtown Extravaganza

Presented by Crystal Dairy Products

The City of Modesto is proud to announce that the beloved Celebration of Lights Parade and Downtown Extravaganza will be presented by Modesto’s own Crystal Dairy Products. Each year, the parade draws thousands of spectators to the downtown area. The theme of this year’s Celebration of Lights Parade and Downtown Extravaganza is “Holiday Magic.”

“We are thrilled to have Crystal Dairy Products as our title sponsor,” said Deanna Ricks, event chairperson. “Foster Farms Dairy, which produces the Crystal branded dairy products, has a tradition in Modesto with a long standing history of giving back to the community and the Celebration of Lights Parade and Downtown Extravaganza is a perfect fit.”

In honor of their support, Crystal’s mascot, “Fosta, the Cool Cow,” will be this year’s parade Grand Marshall leading the Celebration of Lights Parade through Downtown Modesto. The Annual Celebration of Lights Parade and Downtown Extravaganza will be held on Saturday, December 6, at 5:30 p.m. With a requirement for lights on all parade entries, the Parade lights up the night and helps kick-off the holiday season for Modesto.

The Celebration of Lights Parade will begin at 15th and I Streets and will follow I Street to 10th Street, over to J Street and back down to 15th Street. Streets in and around the parade area will be closed beginning at 2 p.m. and will re-open at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The Downtown Extravaganza is an all day event with many fun features. The festivities will begin at 9 a.m. with a traditional Dickens Faire and special Farmer's Market on 15th Street between I and J Streets. The Holiday Craft Fair will begin at noon at Tenth Street Place.
